Requirements for Entry into Guyana
- All visitors to Guyana must be in possession of a valid passport or legal travel document
- All visitors entering Guyana must have valid entry visas. Please check the visa exemption schedule below to determine whether you require a visa to enter Guyana
- The granting of a visa does not necessarily guarantee entry into Guyana. Entry and length of stay in the country will depend upon satisfying the usual Immigration requirements/procedures at the port of entry. Please note that applicants are advised to contact the Immigration and Support Services in Guyana if their stay will extend beyond the endorsed period of permitted stay
- A visitor who without permission, breaches his/her condition of entry while in Guyana may become eligible for deportation
- Visa applications can be submitted to the High Commission in person by booking an Appointment or by sending it via a Courier
Requirement Checklist – Prior Entry Tourist Visa
- Original and one (1) copy of the Completed visa application form (please see form below)
- Two recent coloured Passport Photos
- Original Passport with at least six (6) months validity and two blank pages
- £ 30 fee paid in person or by bank transfer
- Postage paid return self-addressed envelope or payment of £15 for returns within the United Kingdom
- Copy of flight itinerary with proof of return/onward travel
- Evidence of sufficient funds for the duration of the visit/proof of other satisfactory arrangements for support while in Guyana, inclusive of a letter of invitation from the host in Guyana if not staying at a hotel or hotel reservation (which is applicable)
- Copy of the hotel reservation in Guyana
- Recent bank statement; letter from employer where applicable
- Travellers from countries with risk of yellow fever transmission (with the exception of Argentina, Paraguay, Suriname and Trinidad & Tobago) should either: present their international yellow fever vaccination card with their application or ensure that they are vaccinated ten (10) days prior to their arrival in Guyana and have their cards to show at the port of entry.
Student/Business/Employment Visa
Applications for Student, Business and Employment visas MUST be submitted online to the Immigration and Support Services, Ministry of Home Affairs of Guyana. Once successful, these visas will be issued upon arrival at the port of entry in Guyana. All applications for these types of visas should be completed at eServices (iss.gov.gy)
Please note that visa-on-arrival applications are monitored by the Immigration and Support Services of Guyana. The Guyana High Commission would not have updates on these applications.

There is no assurance that a visa would be issued, and any preparation or plan made for the journey would be done at the applicant’s own risk
